The Cultural Resources Department oversees two gallery spaces: the Rotunda Gallery at City Hall and the Cultural Arts Gallery at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center. These venues exist for the promotion and education of the visual arts via the display of contemporary art, design, and craft by local and regional artists. The exhibits serve and respond to the Savannah Community with educational programming that strengthens awareness and stimulates dialogue through artistic expression.
The Savannah Cultural Arts Center gallery presents lectures, gallery tours, workshops and other educational programs related to our exhibits whenever possible. Access to the gallery is free and open to the public during regular business hours.
Art in the Rotunda is a rotating exhibit in City Hall's first floor Rotunda featuring the work of local artists or highlighting local history. This exhibit is available to the general public Monday-Friday 8:15am-5:00pm, except City holidays.
January - December 2019, Abstracts & Animals: Abstracts & Animals showcases the diverse talent of two local artists through a vibrant exhibit of art quilts. Donna Stankiewicz works with realistic subject matter using paints, dye, and fabric. Jody Wigton uses color and pattern to create multi-pieced abstract and improvisational designs.
