Savannah Fire protects the lives and property of the citizens of Savannah by providing the highest level of fire protection, prevention, and response services with professionalism and dedication. Savannah Fire also provides safety education, performs fire investigations and inspections, and provides services to the community, including blood pressure checks and residential smoke detector installations.
The fire fee, which City Council adopted with the 2018 budget, provides an equitable, stable, and dedicated revenue source to support fire services. All fire fee revenues collected are restricted, and can only be used to provide fire services to customers. All properties receiving fire services through the City of Savannah will be charged a Fire Fee.
If you believe that an error has been made in determining your fire fee estimate calculation, you may submit a Petition for Redetermination. Initial requests may be made based on the Fire Fee Estimate distributed to property owners. Requests for redetermination of estimates will be accepted through July 31, 2018. Once a completed Petition for Redetermination request and all required information are received, a written decision will be made within 60 days.
PLEASE NOTE: The Petition for Redetermination cannot be used to apply for a Fire Fee discount. The Fire Fee discount applications can be accessed from the Fire Fee Discount Program page.
