Chatham County/City of Savannah Landbank Authority

Description:
The Land Bank Authority was established to acquire the tax delinquent properties in order to foster the public purpose of returning land which is in a non-revenue-generating, non-tax-producing status to an effective utilization status in order to provide housing, new industry, and jobs for the citizens of the county.

Membership/Appointment:
The Inter-local Agreement and By-laws established for board members that reside in Chatham County and be employee or elected officials of Chatham County and/ or the City of Savannah.  Board members must also have demonstrated special interest, experience or education in urban planning, real estate, community development, finance or related matters. Five members with two members (2) appointed by the Mayor.

Term:
Four (4) year terms. No term limits.
