Any restaurant seeking to use the public right-of-way for outdoor dining during the COVID-19 Pandemic must submit an application to the Office of Special Events, Film and Tourism. The application can be found HERE. Please also review the presentation, found HERE for guidelines associated with this Program. Please be advised that this is a PILOT program until June 15, 2020. After that time, staff will reassess the Program.
Applicants should also provide a drawing indicating where the outdoor seating will be placed and the measurements between seating, to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Once the application and drawing is completed, the documents should be emailed here
Please find the original Temporary Use Policy for Sidewalk Seating HERE. While the City of Savannah is suspending any fees associated with this activity during the Pilot Program, the majority of the other guidelines, including serving alcohol, in the Policy remain relevant. Please remember, the purpose of this Program is to enhance the opportunity for business development, not to create outdoor bars or nightclubs.
