Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT)

Description:
Originally known as the Savannah Transit Authority (established 1960), the Chatham Area Transit Authority (1986) was established by the General Assembly of the State of Georgia in order to foster and assure the development of a mass rapid transit system within its territory.

Membership/Appointment:
This authority consists of members of Chatham County Board of Commissions and one (1) citizen member, one of whom appointed by Council for term of the administration.

Term:
Concurrent with the terms of office of the respective governing authorities making the appointment.
