Description:
The Savannah Park and Tree Commission was established 1895 by General Assembly of the State of Georgia. This commission has the exclusive management of all things relating to the care, preservation, improvement, adornment, good order, and regulation generally of the parks, squares, grass plats, trees, and flowers of the city; planting of and caring of. It shall be an active advisory council to the Mayor and Aldermen and shall serve as the official voice to the Mayor and aldermen on behalf of the citizens on issues affecting scenic parks and the urban forest.
Membership/Appointment:
Nine (9) members appointed by City Council. Must be a City resident. No member may serve more than three, consecutive three year terms.
Term:
Overlapping three (3) year terms.
