This Saturday at Second Harvest Food Bank on 2501 E President St, Savannah, GA 31404. From 9 a.m. through noon on Saturday, Second Harvest will be distributing boxes of food.

• Each pre-packed box will include frozen meat, perishable goods (fruits, vegetables) and canned goods, totaling about 25 pounds. One box per car, packed as-is, no exceptions.
• This will be a “grab and go.” Vehicles will drive through a designated loading area at the Food Bank, pop their trunks or truck beds, and the box will be loaded. Due to concerns about COVID-19, the volunteers will be the only ones touching and loading boxes and without any other person contact. The driver and any passengers should remain in the vehicle.

The Savannah Police Department will be assisting with traffic control. Second Harvest Food Bank is also working with the City’s Office of Community and Neighborhood Services (Taffayne Young) to distribute boxes to 1,500 elderly citizens at various community center parking lots.
