Girls can Ignite their passion for firefighting with new summer camp

 

SAVANNAH (June 12) – Camp ignite is coming in hot! Applications are now open for a four-day firefighter camp that is designed exclusively for girls ages 14 to 21. The camp aims to empower young women through experiencing the thrill of a firefighting career.

 

In the camp, participants will take part in real-life training with plenty of hands-on Fire and EMS experiences. Campers will learn valuable life skills and lifesaving skills in an interactive and fun atmosphere.

 

Camp will be held July 26 to 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

Applications are available at savannahga.gov/campignite and must be submitted by July 1. Applicants will be notified about selection status no later than July 10. Priority will be given to Savannah residents, but all are encouraged to apply.
