City offices to close in observance of Independence Day

 

SAVANNAH (June 29) – City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed Tuesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Emergency services will remain open.

 

Sanitation services will be impacted by the holiday. Residents can expect the following changes to their schedule:

 

Residential garbage collection services will continue as scheduled on Monday, July 3. No collections will be made Tuesday, July 4. Sanitation services will resume Wednesday, July 5, with all collections for the week delayed by one day. Residential refuse will be collected Wednesday July 5, through Friday, July 7. Yard Waste will be collected Wednesday, July 5, through Saturday, July 8. Street cleaning services will resume Wednesday, July 5, through Friday July, 7. 

 

The Dean Forest Road Landfill will be closed for drop-offs Tuesday, July 4, and will resume normal operations Wednesday, July 5 at 7 a.m. Bacon Park Transfer Station will be closed for drop-offs on Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4. Bacon Park Transfer Station will resume normal operations on Wednesday, July 5, at 9 a.m.

 

Residential recycling for Monday will continue as scheduled. Residential recycling for Tuesday, July 4 will be collected Wednesday, July 5.
