City hosting ribbon cutting for the new Hudson Hill Community Center

SAVANNAH (July 7) — The City of Savannah will host a ribbon cutting for the new Hudson Hill Community Center on Wednesday, July 12, at 10 a.m. at 2227 Hudson St. in Savannah.

The Hudson Hill Community Center is located within Rebecca N. Gray Memorial Park.  It provides a new central hub for community, recreation, education and sports. This community center is a 4,800 square foot facility replacing the demolished 3,800 square foot building.

The new facility consists of classrooms, offices and a large assembly space with a commercial

kitchen. A new lighted parking lot is adjacent to the covered pavilion near the entrance of the center.

The community center project was funded from the City’s General Fund in the amount of $2,774,827.

In addition to the community center, the City will unveil a new playground and the first splash pad of eleven being created under the Recreation Re-Imagined initiative.

Media outlets are asked to RSVP by Tuesday, July 11, at noon.
