City of Savannah Orders All Tour Operations Suspended,

Will Open Safety Center

SAVANNAH (Aug. 30, 2023) – The City of Savannah has ordered all tour operations to be suspended for the remainder of the day beginning at noon due to inclement weather from Hurricane Idalia.

The City will open a Safety Center at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center, 201 Montgomery St., for those who need a space to get out of the storm. Sleeping cots, water, and snacks will be provided as supplies are available. The Safety Center will be open at noon today and close at 8 a.m. Thursday morning. Pets cannot be accommodated.

Residents are urged to limit travel today as weather conditions worsen and continue to follow updates from the City of Savannah on all social media platforms.
