Keep the Wreath Green: A Holiday campaign to promote fire safety

SAVANNAH (Nov. 27, 2023) – The “Keep the Wreath Green” campaign, a tradition for the Savannah Fire Department (SFD), aims to promote fire safety heading into the holiday season.

The campaign features a wreath above SFD headquarters that starts with all green bulbs. When the city has a structure fire, one green bulb will be swapped out with a red one. The red light will serve as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and the need to be vigilant during the holiday season while SFD hopes the green bulbs will inspire residents to take action.

The campaign will run through the end of December. All media are invited to 121 E Oglethorpe Ave. for a press conference to learn more about the campaign on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 11:30 a.m.

What: Keep the Wreath Green Campaign

When: Thursday, Nov. 30, 11:30 a.m.

Where: 121 E Oglethorpe Ave.
