[ARCHIVED] City crews respond to minor spill

City crews responded to a minor sewage spill on Friday on Graham Avenue south of Hudson Street.

The spill was reported at 11 a.m. Friday, and was corrected by 11:40 a.m. An estimated 1,200 gallons spilled, which is classified as a minor spill under State guidelines.

The cause of the spill was determined to be a force main break. The break was repaired, the site was cleaned up and State and local health department agencies were notified. Notifications were placed at the spill site and at the stormwater ditch near 61 Graham Avenue, where the spill entered the storm drainage system.
