[ARCHIVED] Savannah Youth Council welcomes new class

Date: September 30, 2015

Mayor Pro-Tem Van Johnson hosted the swearing in ceremony for the 38 new members of the 2015-2016 Savannah Youth Council last night at City Hall.

“It’s our responsibility as a community to create a village for each child. By providing this program to our youth, we want to highlight our young people who are doing the right thing, and make sure that they continue to do the right thing,” said Mayor Pro-Tem Van Johnson.

The Youth Council is comprised of a diverse group of 8th graders who will attend council meetings, learn about the role of government and also participate in community service and leadership development activities.
