Winter 2023 Classes are Now in Session!
Spring session classes begin March 27th (Adult) and April 10 (Youth). Registration will open the first week of March. More workshops are being added! Check out the workshops section to learn more about upcoming art opportunities.

All classes take place at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center at 201 Montgomery St. Limited (paid) street parking is available near the (SCAC). The closest parking garages are Liberty Parking Garage on Liberty and Montgomery and Robinson Parking Garage on Montgomery St. across from Chatham County Courthouse.

Registration notes: due to the manual nature of our registration process, waitlisted classes may not be accurately reflected at the time of registration submission. A member of our customer service staff will contact you after receiving your registration form for payment and to confirm your spot. In the case of our most popular classes with many registrants, we will move to the next registration if we have not heard back in 24 hours time.
Pricing: City of Savannah resident pricing is available to those whose residential address lies within the City of Savannah corporate limits.
Financial Assistance is available for qualifying youth. Documentation required. View the application form here. The application may be submitted prior to registering for classes this fall.

Acting for You (Youth) Annie Childress | Mondays 5:30-6:30pm Middle School - Ages 11-14 6-Week Series $60 | In this class, we will explore the basics of acting. From auditioning to performance, we will engage with acting as a discipline. Movement, slating, script analysis, and character development are all subjects we will touch on in this class. Grab your water bottles and your pencils; let’s get to work and have some fun! |

Youth Ballet/Contemporary Combo Kristin Mueller | Wednesdays 10:30-11:30am 6-Week Series $55 | Join us for a perfect combined class of grace and groovy! No experience necessary for this dynamic duo class that will teach the basics of ballet terminology before turning up the tempo into Contemporary Dance. Each genre will be split into 30-minute increments allowing enough time for a full class of warmup, technique and even a routine that will keep students on their toes! Attire: Tights and leotards, leggings and coverups for contemporary if desired. Ballet shoes preferred, jazz shoes also welcome. |

Hip Hop for Teens Darryl Davis | Saturdays 11:00am-12:00pm 8-Week Series $80 | Teen dancers will focus on street jazz which is the whole focus of body movement through levels and interchanges of rhythm and musicality. The class will cover a variety of styles including animation, tutt, isolation, old and new styles which will include up-to-date dance movements. Each week will be dedicated to the discovery of a new genre including: African, Modern, and Bollywood. Bead Jewelry : String Along with Me Tana Fileccia-Flagg | Saturdays 10:30am-12:00pm Adult (17+) 8-Week Series | Create wearable art! String along with me is reminiscent of childhood while engaging your artistic side. This class explores stringing as an art form with an eye to design, use of varied stringing materials, and finishing techniques. We will create patterns, add focals, and have fun! At the end of 8 weeks we will have 3 to 4 completed pieces. Basic materials will be provided, students may choose to purchase specific supplies and beads to match their vision or tools to work with at home. Registration for classes can be completed using our online form. Payment will be completed by phone after registration is submitted. Your registration is not complete until payment is received. Staff will reach out for payment in the order your registration was received.

Financial assistance: Youth who qualified for free and reduced lunch in SCCPSS year 2020-2021 or receive SNAP or TANF are eligible for financial assistance in the form of reduced class and camp fees. Please review the application and required documentation here.

Procedures and Policies
Cancellations and Refunds
Cultural Resources reserves the right to cancel, to combine or reschedule classes, or to change class instructors, when necessary. • Cultural Resources will not provide make-up classes or issue refunds to those who miss classes due to illness or other events beyond our control. • If Cultural Resources cancels a class for any reason, all registered participants will be informed as soon as possible and extended the opportunity to transfer to another class. If participants do not wish to transfer to another class, a refund will be processed. • Participants may withdraw from a class with no penalty up to one week before the first class meets. After that time a 50% withdrawal penalty will be applied. Notice of withdrawal must be made in WRITING to Cultural Resources. • No refunds will be issued after the first class. • Failure to attend first class session without prior notification could result in cancellation of registration without refund.
Attendance Policies
Early Arrival: Participants will be allowed into the classroom no earlier than 10 minutes before the class is scheduled to begin. • Late Arrival: A grace period of 15 minutes is allowed for late arrivals. After that time Cultural Resources reserves the right to deny entry to class at the discretion of the Instructor. Participants are encouraged to call ahead to the Savannah Cultural Arts Center in the event they will arrive late. No refunds will be given for classes that are missed due to late arrival. • Cultural Resources reserves the right to cancel a class that has zero attendance for two consecutive classes. • Cultural Resources reserves the right to refuse enrollment to participants with a history of unacceptable behavior.
Financial Assistance
Our classes and workshops are available to the entire community and we strive to ensure that youth, in particular, have an opportunity to participate. Financial assistance is available for youth, aged 17 and under, who qualified for free and reduced lunch in SCCPSS year 2020-2021 or receive SNAP or TANF.
