The Savannah Cultural Arts Center presents Bloom, a group exhibition that explores what it means to "bloom" through the works of four Savannah-based artists. This exhibition seeks to unravel how to define the act of blooming through art, by piecing together works that take on its various meanings.
This selection of works analyze the word Bloom as Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines it as; ''to produce or yield flowers, to mature into achievement of one's potential, and to flourish in youthful beauty, freshness, or excellence; etc. '', while going a step further. They complete the words' meaning by delving into the physical, spiritual, and mental elements attached to the word Bloom through a compelling visual language.
The artists create refreshing work that uses a variety of media such as painting, fiber art, and mixed media. These works create a dialogue surrounding the human experience and how we connect to nature and have the power to evolve. Collectively, these works decipher, reveal, and respond to what it truly means to Bloom through a contemporary lens.
