Savannah residents can now save on home energy upgrades through Georgia’s Home Energy Rebates Program, funded by the federal Inflation Reduction Act and administered by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA). These rebates help cover costs for improvements like insulation, heat pumps, and efficient appliances—making it easier to keep Savannah homes comfortable and energy-efficient year-round.

Georgia’s program has two main rebate paths, depending on your goals and income:

1. Home Efficiency Rebates (HER)

• Designed for whole-home energy efficiency upgrades: insulation, air sealing, HVAC systems, and more.

• Covers key home upgrades such as electric wiring, insulation, and air sealing
• Designed to reduce energy use, lower monthly bills, and improve year-round home comfort
• Available to low- and moderate-income households, with higher rebates for those under 80% of Area Median Income (AMI)
• Includes a DIY Pathway, allowing homeowners and tenants to purchase and install eligible kitchen appliances themselves
