Carver Street Fire Displaces One
SAVANNAH, GA (Friday, March 5, 2021) – The Savannah Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 1000 Block of Carver Street at 9:08 p.m., Friday, March 5. Engine 4 was first on scene. Firefighters discovered fire and heavy smoke in a residential structure. While they worked to extinguish the blaze, police and fire officials worked to keep the distraught resident from resident from going back inside. The resident suffered smoke inhalation and was treated by EMS. Firefighters prevented the blaze from extending beyond one room of the home. However, power had to be cut and the resident was displaced.
Remember, make sure your home is equipped with working smoke alarms, which will alert you to fire dangers. If a fire occurs, get low, get out, and call 911. Do not go back inside.
