Savannah Fire Saves Home from Damage by Backyard Shed Fire
SAVANNAH, GA (Tuesday, April 20, 2021) – The Savannah Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire in the 100 Block of East 64th Street at 9:52 p.m., Tuesday, April 13. Truck One was first on scene. Firefighters discovered a backyard wood shop that was fully engulfed in flames. The flames towered 70 feet above the building and burned the trees around the structure. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and prevented the fire from extending to the residence and neighboring homes. No one was injured, but power to the residence had to be cut. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
