Fire Destroys Habersham Street Apartment Building Under Construction 

SAVANNAH, GA (Thursday, April 15, 2021) – The Savannah Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a fire in the 4600 Block of Habersham Street at 2:42 a.m., Thursday, April 15. Truck 1 was first on scene. Firefighters found flames streaming from a three-story apartment building under construction. The structure was fully engulfed in flames. Exterior portions of an adjacent apartment building were damaged from exposure to the fire. Firefighters worked through the pre-dawn hours to extinguish the blaze and prevent the fire from causing further damage to the adjacent building. The construction site was vacant at the time of the fire. The cause is under investigation.
