Businesses operating in the City of Savannah are required to have a Business Tax Certificate instead of a business license. The Business Tax Certificate is required by Article Y, Business Tax, of the current City of Savannah, GA, Revenue Ordinance.

Zoning verification is a crucial step in planning your business. It is the responsibility of the prospective business owner to verify that the location being considered meets the City’s zoning ordinance for that area.
