City Offices Will Close Monday, Sept. 1, in Observance of Labor Day

SAVANNAH – City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, in observance of Labor Day. Emergency services will remain open. 

Sanitation services will be impacted by the holiday closures. Residents can expect the following changes to their schedule: 

Residential garbage collection and curbside recycling will not run on Monday, Sept. 1. Collection services will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 2 and proceed on a one-day delayed schedule. Street sweeping operations will not run on Monday, Sept. 1. Street cleaning will resume routes on Tuesday, Sept. 2. on a normal schedule.

The Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station hours will not be affected by the Monday closure per their normal operating schedule. The Dean Forest Landfill will open on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 7 a.m. The Bacon Park Transfer Station will open on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 9 a.m. as normal.

As a reminder, trash and recycling carts should be placed at their normal curbside collection points with a minimum of three feet of separation from each other and at least three feet of space from mailboxes and/or other obstructions.
