City to Unveil New Pothole Repair Truck Name

City of Savannah Marketing and Communications Posted on December 05, 2025

SAVANNAH – The City of Savannah, in partnership with the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS), will unveil the winning name of the City’s new pothole repair truck following the Pothole Patcher Naming Contest held earlier this fall. Members of the media are invited to attend the unveiling event on Monday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. at Hubert Middle School, located at 768 Grant Street.

Between August 18 and September 2, students attending SCCPSS schools within Savannah city limits submitted name ideas for the City’s new pothole patching truck. City employees then voted on their favorite submission, which will be revealed during the event. The student who submitted the winning name will also be recognized at the unveiling.

The naming contest supports the launch of Pothole Patrol, the City’s new initiative led by the Transportation Services Department to enhance pothole repair capacity and improve response times citywide.
