Driveway Permit

Cuts in the curb for driveways require a permit. Citizens must complete and submit a Driveway Permit Application along with plans or sketch with the appropriate dimensions of the proposed driveway to the Traffic Engineering Department at 20 Interchange Drive, emailed, or fax to (912) 525-1535. The Traffic Engineering Director, or his designee, will inspect the site and review plans and/or sketch to determine if the site meets minimum conditions for approval of the driveway. The Traffic Engineering Department will evaluate and process the application in a maximum of four working days from the date the application was received by the Traffic Engineering Department.

In addition to Traffic Engineering, the application form will be forwarded to the Streets Department, Park and Tree Department, and the Storm Water Department (if applicable) for review and approval. .

Your permit must be posted at the work site.

  • All applications should be submitted via FAX: 912-525-1535 or  EMAIL:  While the Mobility Services/Traffic Engineering Office is open to the public for in-person submissions, appointments are recommended.  Visitors will be permitted access as office capacity will allow.  Face covering is required to gain entry.  
  • Invoiced fees can be paid using most credit cards online via eTRAC. To sign up, users must click "Register" on the eTRAC site & provide the required information. See link for guidance:
  • For customers that are unable to submit applications and/or fees electronically, a drop-box is available next to the main entrance of the Administration Building at 20 Interchange Drive. *No personal checks or cash will be accepted – Only cashier checks, money orders, or local company checks*

  • *PLEASE NOTE:  The Traffic Engineering Office's new location is at 20 Interchange Drive (off of W. Gwinnett St., east of I-516).  A drop-box is available at the new Administration Building. 

Fees and Conditions
Application fees are determined by the type of driveway proposed.

• Residential driveway: $75

• Commercial driveway: $125 per entrance
