Project OverVIEW

Phase 2B completes a key missing link in the Truman Linear Park Trail network. This 1.9-mile segment will connect Phase 2A and Lake Mayer Park to Phase 1 (Police Memorial Trail) using the 52nd St. bridge. The segment begins near DeRenne Ave. & Reuben Clark Dr and ends on the west side of the 52nd St. bridge.

UPDATE (MARCH 2026): Truman Trail 2B is expected to be fully complete in June. While the pavement work has been finished, work remains along the 52nd St. bridge, along with general cleanup, sodding, and fencing installation in select sections. Georgia Power has begun installing lighting along the trail; however, installation is still in progress. Signage is posted at all main entrances to the trail indicating that this phase of the trail is currently closed. The trail is not yet open for public use, and anyone who chooses to enter the closed area does so at their own risk.

Why It Matters

  • Continuous Connectivity: Ride, walk, or roll from Lake Mayer Park to the Police Memorial Trail without gaps.

  • Detours: Signed detours may be in place around active work zones.

ACCESSIBILITY & SAFETY

  • The trail will be built to ADA standards.
