1. Impact fees are one-time fees charged to new development that are used to defray some of the costs of providing additional public facilities. Impact fees also help ensure that new development pays for the public facilities it requires, rather than these costs being borne by all taxpayers in the community. Do you support creating an Impact Fee Program for the City of Savannah?

If the City were to approve an Impact Fee Program, Mayor and Aldermen have the ability to exempt particular development projects from all or part of the established impact fee amounts on the Impact Fee Schedule. Note that any amount of money granted as an exemption must be reimbursed by the City from revenue other than impact fees.
