Recently the City of Savannah posted new, lower speed limits on nearly 100 streets, as part of the City’s Vision Zero traffic safety program aimed at eliminating traffic fatalities in our community. Data shows when crashes happen at lower speeds, people are less likely to be seriously injured or killed.
State law allows for a 30-day “grace period” on enforcement of the lower speeds to allow drivers time to adjust. That period ends on June 15, 2025. Be sure to observe the posted speed limits as you travel around town to avoid receiving a citation.
