City Crews Respond To Minor Sewage Spill
SAVANNAH (Nov. 21, 2023) – City of Savannah staff responded to a minor sewage spill on Nov. 20 at 1002 Lynes Ave.
The spill resulted from damage to a force main. An estimated 2,430 gallons spilled before the leak was repaired. State Environmental Protection Division guidelines classify this as a minor spill, which is a spill under 10,000 gallons.
The City distributed spill notification via area signage and is notifying the media per state guidelines. All agencies (Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Health Department and the City of Savannah Office of Marketing and Communications) were notified per state guidelines.
