City To Unveil New Holiday Tree
Street Closures To Begin At 9 a.m. Wednesday
SAVANNAH (Nov. 21, 2023) – The City of Savannah will begin installation of a new 40-foot decorated Holiday Tree on Wednesday, Nov. 22 on Bull Street between Broughton and Congress Streets.
The staging area will close from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 22. This area will be impacted through January 2024. Residents can expect no-park signs to be posted by Nov. 20. Vehicles found in the no-park zones will be towed at the owner’s expense.
The City will host the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting event on Friday, Nov. 24 at 5:30 p.m. The public is also welcome to attend a family fun event, in partnership with Savannah Holly Days, on Saturday, Nov. 25 in Ellis Square from 1 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. There, residents can enjoy Cultural Arts Center activities and special guest appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The Mobility and Parking Services Department will also be holding its annual holiday parking specials, offering free parking in City garages for a majority of the holiday season.
Normal hours and rates apply outside of the following times: Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24: free parking all day in City garages; Saturday, Nov. 25 (Small Business Saturday): free parking in City garages from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Nov. 28 - Dec. 27: free parking in City garages 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
