City Crews Respond to Minor Sewage Spill
SAVANNAH – City of Savannah staff responded to a minor sewage spill on Feb. 26 behind 139 Port Royal Dr.
The spill resulted from an overflowing manhole on the force main. An estimated 950 gallons spilled before the break was repaired. State Environmental Protection Division guidelines classify this as a minor spill, which is a spill under 10,000 gallons.
The City is distributing spill notifications via a news release and area signage. All agencies, Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Health Department and the City of Savannah Office of Communications, were notified per state guidelines.
