Residents and neighborhood leaders are invited to join the City of Savannah’s Department of Community Planning and Development and the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) for Neighborhood Empowerment: Anti-Crime Strategies for Community Leaders. This session will take place Saturday, April 23 from 8:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Savannah Civic Center. The event is free, open to the public, and includes a free breakfast. To register, go to www.savannahga.gov/leadershiptraining.
Subject matter experts including Project End Gun Violence: Step Forward, The Mediation Center, and several crime prevention units from SCMPD will share anti-crime strategies and facilitate discussions to equip community leaders with actionable strategies to increase awareness and reduce crime-related incidences in their neighborhoods. This training session is your neighborhood’s opportunity to develop your own crime prevention strategy and learn from the experts and each other through skills sharing sessions.
