[ARCHIVED] City to use social media sites for St. Patrick’s Day updates

For Immediate Release
Date: February 26, 2013

To enhance and expedite communications at one of the biggest and busiest events in Savannah, the City of Savannah will be using the social media Web sites Facebook and Twitter to broadcast St. Patrick’s Day information and news. The City anticipates posting timely announcements that impact attendees and local businesses – everything from street closures to the length of lines at portable toilets.

Visitors, residents and business owners can visit www.facebook.com/savstpat and “like” the page to receive the St. Patrick’s Day notices. City of Savannah Facebook entries also automatically appear in the City’s St. Patrick’s Day Twitter account, which the public can follow at www.twitter.com/savstpat.

All St. Patrick’s Day information is available at the City’s St. Patrick’s Day Central Web site, www.savannahga.gov/savstpat.
