For Immediate Release
Date: March 8, 2013
With just one week to go until the 2013 St. Patrick’s Day celebration, the City of Savannah continues to add to the growing list of informational resources available online for businesses, locals and visitors. On the City’s official St. Patrick’s Day Festival website, www.savannahga.gov/savstpat, the much-anticipated portable toilet locator map is now posted. Clocking in at over 800 “likes” just three weeks post-launch, the City’s St. Pat’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/savstpat is chock full of useful and timely information. Questions have been asked and answered on topics ranging from walking local dogs to toting adult beverages.
The Facebook and Twitter feeds will be monitored 20 hours a day during the Festival by City staff. The City anticipates posting timely announcements that impact attendees and local businesses – everything from street closures to the length of lines at portable toilets. Visitors, residents and business owners can visit www.facebook.com/savstpat and “like” the page to receive the St. Patrick’s Day notices. City of Savannah Facebook entries also automatically appear in the City’s St. Patrick’s Day Twitter account, which the public can follow at www.twitter.com/savstpat
