City of Savannah crews responded to a minor sewage spill at 43 Rivermore Court, Friday, October 14, 2016. The spill was the result of a Lift Station breaker being tripped which caused station to go down and two manholes to overflow. The total volume discharged was 85 gallons. The amount of this spill is classified as a minor spill under State Environmental Protection Division guidelines.
City Water and Sewer crews were notified of the spill at 6:41 a.m. and the spill was corrected at 8:06 a.m. Power was restored to the station and City crews vacuumed out manholes. Spill notifications were placed at the spill site and Highway 21/St. Augustine Creek.
All entities (Georgia Environmental Protection Division, and Heath Department) were contacted.
