[ARCHIVED] YouthBuild Savannah now accepting applications


The YouthBuild Savannah Program is a comprehensive youth and community development program which promotes affordable housing.  We are looking for eligible young men and women, ages 16 – 24 years old will spend nine (9) months participating in activities suchas:   GED Instruction, Construction Training, Leadership Training, Career & Post-secondary exploration, Community Involvement and Counseling Services.

Participants will use their construction trade skills to improve their community by building affordable housing for low-income families.  Each trainee will receive above minimum wage for their work on the construction site with the possibility of wage increases and bonuses, based on work performance.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will receive assistance with job placement and/or identifying advanced training/educational opportunities. 

Applications will also be available at:  Ash Tree Organization, Inc.; Housing Authority of Savannah (HAS) Neighborhood Resource Center,; HAS Management Offices: Fred Wessels Homes, Kayton/Frazier Homes, Patterson Terrace, Stillwell and Yamacraw Village; Community Centers: The Grant Center, Moses Jackson, and WW Law Community Center; Affordable Housing Leasing Offices: Ashley Midtown and Sustainable Fellwood.

Application deadline is Friday, January 13th, 2017.
