[ARCHIVED] Alderman John Hall Appointed to the NLC Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee

City of Savannah Alderman John Hall has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2017 Public Safety and Crime Prevention (PSCP) federal advocacy committee. This committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC’s federal policy positions on issues involving crime prevention, corrections, substance abuse, municipal fire policy, juvenile justice, disaster preparedness and relief, homeland security, domestic terrorism, court systems and gun control. The appointment was announced by NLC President Matt Zone, councilmember, Cleveland.

“I consider this appointment an honor to serve collaboratively with other elected officials from around the country to make Savannah and Chatham County a safer place to live,” said Alderman Hall.

As a member of the committee, Alderman Hall will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the new administration and at home.

The leadership of this year’s committee will consist of Chair Joel Price, mayor, Thousand Oaks, California, and Vice Chairs Cleophus King, council president, Bessemer, Alabama, and Krisin Szakos, councilmember, Charlottesville, Virginia.
