[ARCHIVED] Great Savannah Cleanup moves to Bacon Park/Brookview/Skidaway Terrace Neighborhoods

The City of Savannah is joining forces with local residents and other organizations for a neighborhood cleanup in the Bacon Park/Brookview/Skidaway Terrace Neighborhoods on Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. until noon as part of the Great Savannah Cleanup. The event will kick off at 9 a.m. at the Bona Bella shopping center – located at Bona Bella Drive off Skidaway Road and will include litter and trash pickup, lot cutting and canal/ditch cleaning as well as outreach and education from Savannah Fire and Emergency Services (SFES) and Savannah Chatham Metro Police (SCMPD). The target streets are: Jan, Betty Drive, Bona Bella, Emory and Brogdon.

Participating entities include City of Savannah Sanitation, Community Planning and Development, Property Maintenance department, SFES, SCMPD, Savannah Impact, Operation Clean Sweep and neighborhood residents and volunteers. The Great Savannah Cleanup runs through May 31 in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup.

Residents can help organize cleanups and beautification projects in their neighborhood by calling Operation Clean Sweep Coordinator Pauline V. Haywood at (912) 658-6795.
