Shamrock Run to Affect Downtown Traffic 

SAVANNAH, GA (March 8, 2018)— Downtown traffic will be affected for several hours March 9 as Savannah Police close roads for the annual Shamrock Run.

The 26th Annual March of Dimes Shamrock Run 5k will kick off festivities at 5:00 p.m. in Ellis Square with the race taking place at 6:00 p.m.

Ellis Square will be closed to traffic from 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Johnson, Wright, Chippewa, Madison and Monterey squares along with Forsyth Park will be closed to traffic from 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. The City advises residents to avoid streets North of Park Avenue between Jefferson Street and Drayton Street during this time.

Traffic Flow should be returned to normal on all streets by 9:00 p.m.

The City of Savannah’s Office of Special Events, Tourism and Film approved the permit for the event and is coordinating necessary City services.
