Applications Open for Youth Ambassador Program

SAVANNAH, GA (April 18, 2018) — The City of Savannah is asking rising high school students to apply for the Savannah Youth Ambassador 2018 Summer Institute. This program offers a no-cost, four week leadership training program that provides youth with skills to build their personal capacity for leadership and civic engagement.

The Savannah Youth Ambassadors 2018 Summer Institute will run June 5- June 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. These sessions will include hands on experience in community projects, educational speakers and workshops that are uniquely designed for youth leadership development. Participants will be required to apply the skills they have learned on Make a Difference (M.A.D.) projects in the Savannah Community.

To be eligible, applicants must be rising 9-12 graders by summer 2018, a savannah resident and submit one letter of recommendation. To apply, visit www.savannahga.gov/sya and fill out the online application. Applications for the 2018 Summer Institute are due on May 3 by 5 p.m.
