City Calls for Art Investment Proposals
SAVANNAH, GA (May 17, 2018) — A “Call for Proposal” has been issued by the Arts, Culture & Historical Resources Department for the 2019 Cultural & Arts Investment Program. The Cultural & Arts Investment Program asks organizations that contribute public art classes, exhibits, music and art festivals and other cultural enhancements to submit proposals for city council to consider entering into partnership agreements.
Proposals are encouraged to position arts, cultural and creative programs as catalysts that align with the goals of Economic Strength, Poverty Reduction and Neighborhood Revitalization from the Savannah Forward Strategic Plan.
Free, open to the public workshops will be held to provide in depth explanation of programs, eligibility criteria, investment priorities, and the application process. Interested applicants can register for workshops, find schedules, applications, guidelines and program information at www.savannahga.gov/arts.
The deadline for application submittal is Friday, June 29, 2018 at 5:00 p.m
Proposed programs must take place during the 2019 calendar year within the City of Savannah’s corporate limits. Proposals may or may not be recommended for funding; therefore, agencies should not rely upon or have an expectation of funding from the City of Savannah. Submitted proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by members of the Cultural Affairs Commission, who are City of Savannah citizens appointed through an application process by the Mayor and Aldermen. The Mayor and Aldermen approve the final investments for the Cultural and Arts Investment Program.
