Date: May 14, 2013
For Immediate Release
Due to scheduling conflicts, the planned May 20 Public Safety Roundtable has been postponed. It will be rescheduled for a date in June, yet to be determined.
Members of the public are asked to continue sending in their thoughts and ideas on public safety in Savannah-Chatham County through a special online form available at www.savannahga.gov/publicsafetycomment.
The comments will be compiled and presented to the Public Safety Roundtable when it meets in June. The Roundtable will be comprised of the top elected and appointed officials representing the major entities that touch public safety, including law enforcement, the courts, probation and parole, education, city and county governments, and various nonprofits and the faith-based community.
The goal of the Roundtable will be to identify key issues impacting public safety in our community, and begin a process that will create an action plan to make our community safer. The Roundtable wants to hear from the public on this matter, and has set up the online form to solicit input.
