WHAT: Unveiling Ceremony for the new hands-on, interactive xylophone being installed in Forsyth Park.
WHEN: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6 (In the event of rain the unveiling will be rescheduled.)
WHERE: Forsyth Park, on the west side of the band shell, near the central walkway.
WHO: Savannah Mayor Pro-tem Van R. Johnson, City Manager Stephanie Cutter, Healthy Savannah Coalition members, Savannah Arts Academy staff and students will join with City staff. The unveiling celebration will include pre-school students who regularly use the park and a musical demonstration of the new xylophone by students from the Savannah Arts Academy.
WHY: Funding for the xylophone was provided through a Cities of Service Grant and is part of an ongoing effort by the City of Savannah to provide Savannah’s youth with a wide range of cultural arts and recreational experiences.
