Mayor Pro-Tem Partners with SCCPSS to Hold Black History Scholars Bowl

SAVANNAH, GA (February 14, 2019) — City of Savannah Mayor Pro-Tem Carol Bell has partnered with Savannah Chatham County Public Schools and Superintendent Dr. Ann Levett to hold a community Black History Scholars Bowl at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, at the Beach Institute.

Teams from five different middle schools, including Mercer, Myers, Southwest, STEM Academy at Bartlett, and West Chatham will demonstrate their knowledge of American and local history from an African-American perspective in a competitive quiz bowl. Prizes and certificates will be awarded. The event is open and free to the public.

What: Black History Scholars Bowl

When: Saturday, February 23 at 12:00 p.m.

Where: Beach Institute African American Cultural Center, 502 E. Harris St.
