Applications now open for 2021 arts and culture funding program

SAVANNAH, GA (July 10, 2020) — The City’s Art and Culture Enrichment Program (ACE) is now accepting applications for funding of arts, culture and heritage programming to strengthen the City of Savannah’s economic, physical and social vitality.

Arts, culture, history and creativity are recognized as essential components in the development of Savannah’s unique identity. Nonprofits and higher learning institutions are invited to present opportunities that provide high-quality, innovative services to new and diverse audiences.

“We are excited to play a role in furthering Savannah’s reputation as an exceptional arts city,” said Stuart Miller, director of Cultural Resources for the City of Savannah. “The City is seeking to purchase services through organizations to deliver high-quality and innovative programming to all Savannah audiences. We invite and encourage applications from all eligible organizations and especially welcome the opportunity to support new and creative arts and cultural programming.”

Proposed programming must take place in the 2021 calendar year and within the Savannah city limits. All applicants will be required to attend an ACE Workshop to explain the programs, eligibility criteria, investment priorities and application process in depth. Workshops will take place Wednesday, July 22, at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and Saturday, July 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center, 201 Montgomery St.

Applications, guidelines, and program information can be found on the Cultural Resources website savannahga.gov/arts or by contacting the contract coordinator at scaccontracts@savannahga.gov or 912-651-6760. The deadline for application submittal is Monday, August 10, at 5 p.m. Submitted proposals are reviewed and evaluated by members of the Cultural Affairs Commission, who are City of Savannah citizens appointed through an application process by the Mayor and Aldermen.
