City’s Office of Sustainability to host Earth Day Savannah 2022

SAVANNAH (April 20) – The City of Savannah's Office of Sustainability will host Earth Day Savannah 2022 with three simultaneous, family fun events on Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Live Oak Park, Joseph Tribble Park, and Tatemville Community Center.

Earth Day provides exhibitors, sustainability partners, and businesses the opportunity to educate the public about clean energy, energy efficiency, recycling, health, wellness, and more. Each of the parks will include interactive exhibits, workshops, food, bounce houses, games, and music.

“Earth Day Savannah is an opportunity for residents and visitors to celebrate our incredible coastal community and learn what actions each of us can take to protect and keep our natural environment healthy for future generations,” said Office of Sustainability Director Nick Deffley. “We’re especially excited to take a different approach this year, on Earth Day’s 52nd anniversary, and celebrate in neighborhood parks across the City. Achieving the City’s 100% clean energy goals will take all of us. We are excited to meet people where they are and give them tools to benefit from the clean energy transition.”

The Office of Sustainability will also kick off its public engagement campaign for the 100% Savannah initiative at this year's events. The initiative's goal is for Savannah to transition to safe, clean, renewable energy to increase economic opportunity, improve community health and well-being, and protect our natural environment.
