[ARCHIVED] Residents, students, City to Focus on Windsor Forest Saturday

For Immediate Release
Date: October 25, 2013

WHAT: Focus on Windsor Forest, an initiative of the City of Savannah and Windsor Forest Neighborhood Association, to clean up this historic southside neighborhood.

WHERE: Meets at LaVida Country Club, 525 Windsor Road

WHEN: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 26.

WHO: Volunteers from throughout the neighborhood, more than 100 Armstrong Atlantic State University students, and City of Savannah employees

WHY: Focus on Windsor Forest is a collaborative effort that will involve cutting vines, pruning overgrown brush, and picking up litter. Volunteers will also focus special attention on the yards of three elderly residents. Work will be done across the neighborhood with a concentrated effort around the entrance to Joseph Tribble Park. Volunteers should bring rakes, weeders, loppers, etc. The City will provide bags and other equipment.
