WHAT: Old Town Trolley Tours will be recognized as the 4th quarter’s 2013 winner of The Golden Broom Award during a ceremony on Friday.

WHEN: 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014

WHERE: 234 Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd.

WHO: City of Savannah Citizen Office and Keep Savannah Beautiful will join with the owner and staff of Old Town Trolley Tours

WHY: The Golden Broom award is awarded quarterly to a local business chosen for meeting the following tree lawn criteria:

• Visually compatible with surrounding tree lawns
• Use of sustainable & uniform planting
• Creation of a harmonious design
• Functionality of design
• Meeting landscaping challenges
• Most improved

WHAT ELSE: A residential counterpart award, The Green Thumb Award, will be presented to Elizabeth Dunn, 22 E. Jones Street during the Downtown Neighborhood Association’s monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the Coastal Georgia Center, 6 p.m.
