[ARCHIVED] Water main break may cause service disruptions

For Immediate Release
Date: June 18, 2014

City crews are on scene repairing a broken water main at Abercorn Street near the Truman Parkway terminus on Savannah’s southside. Some residents and businesses around the Wilshire area could experience water service disruptions for much of today while infrastructure repair work is under way.

Service is expected to return to normal by 5 p.m. today. Impacted water users should allow their water to run for a minute or so to allow pipes to clear when service is returned.

If water service is currently functioning normally, it is not expected to be impacted later today during this work. Those who are experiencing disruptions can call 651-4241 for updates.

Members of the media should contact the Public Information Office at 651-6410 with questions.
