[ARCHIVED] City offers free and half-off parking

For Immediate Release
Date: December 20, 2012

The City of Savannah is currently offering two special deals on parking to make visiting downtown easier than ever this holiday season.

Three-for-Free Garage Parking
Downtown visitors have a few more opportunities this week and next to take advantage of three hours of free parking in City garages. The special promotion is valid Thursdays and Fridays through the end of December. The remaining dates are Dec. 20-21 and Dec. 27-28. Daily rates apply after the first 3 hours of free parking. Please note metered street parking is not included in this special promotion.

City Parking Garages
• Bryan St. Garage, 100 E. Bryan St., (912) 651-6477
• Liberty St. Garage, 301 W. Liberty St., (912) 644-5934
• Robinson Garage, 132 Montgomery St., (912) 651-6478
• State St. Garage, 100 E. State St., (912) 651-6473
• Whitaker St Garage, 7 Whitaker St., (912) 525-2820

Half-off Parking Smart Cards
For a limited time, the City is selling Parking Smart Cards for 50% OFF their face value. Parking Smart Cards are like gift cards that can be used at any “pay and display” parking meter in Savannah. The Cards can be purchased in denominations of $25, $50, $75 or $100. They can be used any time, and have no expiration date. They are perfect stocking stuffers, and a tremendous deal for those who ever park in the Historic District north of Broughton Street, where the pay and display meters are concentrated. To purchase a Smart Card, call 651-6470, or stop by the Parking Services Office at 100 E. Bryan St., on the ground level of the Bryan Street Parking Garage.
