The City of Savannah and the Savannah Development and Renewal Authority invite the public to participate in an open house for Wells Park aimed at gathering feedback on a variety of potential changes to the park and the properties immediately around it. Three sessions will be held at St. Luke Baptist Church, 418 West 38th Street and residents are encouraged to drop-in during any one of the following times:
• Saturday, January 24th, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.• Monday, January 26th, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
• Tuesday, January 27th, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
In 2014, the Savannah Development and Renewal Authority, in partnership with the City of Savannah, began a process to help the community shape the future of Wells Park and the surrounding area. Open houses were held in November of 2014 to begin soliciting public input on the project. Following the January open houses, SDRA will develop a master plan for the park, implementing those ideas with broad community support.
